Berrinba Special School provides educational programs for students from Prep to Year 6 with an intellectual impairment. Many of our students may also have additional disabilities, including autism, hearing, vision and physical impairments.
We understand that choosing the right school for your child is an important decision. At Berrinba Special School, we want families to feel welcomed, supported and valued from their very first interaction with us. We look forward to working in partnership with families and being part of each child’s learning journey as they grow, develop and experience Learning Without Limits.
Before a child can enrol at a special school, they must meet the following criteria:
- The person has a disability as defined by the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA).
- The person has a severe disability which includes an Intellectual Disability.
- The person is unlikely to attain the levels of development which the person is capable of unless the person receives special education.
- The person’s educational program is best delivered in a special school, taking into account the appropriateness of this placement for the individual concerned.
Enrolment at Berrinba Special School is available throughout the year and is not restricted to students from a specific geographical area. We are here to support you through enrolment process.
